The Bureau of Reclamation's Nebraska-Kansas Area Manager Aaron Thompson announced the appointment of Todd Dixon to serve as Deputy Area Manager of Reclamation's Nebraska-Kansas Area Office in Grand Island. Dixon begins duty as Deputy Area Manager in early July.

Dixon will assist the area manager with administering the programs and facilities associated with 15 Reclamation dams and reservoirs in Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado. Reclamation facilities in the three states supply water to nearly 300,000 acres of farmland and provide a host of popular recreation areas.

"I look forward to moving to Grand Island and joining Reclamation's Nebraska-Kansas Area Office," said Dixon. "The office provides critical water-related resources to the region and it will be a privilege to be a member of the team."

Dixon most recently served as Reclamation's Great Plains Liaison Officer in Washington D.C., handling congressional and legislative issues for the region. He was previously the administrative officer and budget analyst at the Montana Area Office in Billings, Mont., from 2002 to 2006.

Prior to that, Dixon was employed as a Financial Analyst at both Qwest Corporation and IBM. He has a degree in economics from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
