Reclamation and Navajo Nation to Hold Public Contract Negotiations for Municipal Water from the Lake Powell

The Bureau of Reclamation and the Navajo Nation will conduct a contract negotiation meeting regarding the use of additional water from Lake Powell. The negotiation meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the LeChee Administration building located three miles south of Page, Arizona on Coppermine Road in LeChee, Arizona.

The contract will establish the terms and conditions to secure an additional 950 acre-feet of municipal and industrial water from Lake Powell for the community of LeChee.

All negotiations are open to the public as observers, and the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer comments pertaining to the contract at the end of the negotiation session.
