For Release: June 02, 2008

According to Dan Jewell, Montana Area Manager, the Bureau of Reclamation will be increasing releases from Canyon Ferry Dam to 13,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) on June 2, and to 15,000 cfs on June 4. Releases from Tiber Dam will be increased approximately 500 cfs per day beginning on June 2 to achieve a release of 4,000 cfs by June 7. The increases are necessary to control the rate-of-fill of Canyon Ferry and Tiber Reservoirs due to increased inflows. Further adjustments to releases during the next few weeks are likely depending on inflow conditions. Recreationists are cautioned to be aware of changing flow conditions during this time.
