Summer Visitor Hours Extended at Grand Coulee Dam, Laser Show Starts May 24

The Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center on the Columbia River will extend its hours for the summer, beginning May 24. The popular, evening Laser Show will also start on May 24 and run nightly through the end of September.

Hours for the Visitor Center will be from 8:30 a.m. until one hour past the start of the Laser Show. Through the end of July, the show will begin at 10:00 p.m. For August, the show begins at 9:30 p.m. and for September, 8:30 p.m.

Tours of the Third Powerplant at the dam will be conducted daily between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For the current tour schedule or for more information on visiting the dam, call (509) 633-9265 or visit the dam's website at www.usbr.gov/pn/grandcoulee/.

Grand Coulee Dam was completed in 1942 and serves as a multipurpose facility providing water for irrigation, recreation, fish and wildlife, hydroelectric power production, and also flood control.
