Reclamation Awards $3 Million Asbestos Abatement Contract

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded a $3 million contract to Extreme Coatings, Inc., of Longview, Wash., to conduct asbestos abatement work at various power facilities in Washington and Montana.

The effort calls for eliminating dangerous asbestos materials from power plants, switchyards, a pumping/generating plant, and other structures at Hungry Horse Dam in Montana, and the Grand Coulee Project in Washington.

The contract calls for asbestos abatement efforts to be conducted within a five-year period. The contract was awarded on April 27, 2008.
