The Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled a public scoping meeting to begin the process of preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Madera Irrigation District (MID) Water Supply Enhancement Project. MID proposes to construct a ground-water bank on the property known as the Madera Ranch, west of the City of Madera, Madera County, CA.

The Federal actions include approval from Reclamation for MID to bank a portion of their Central Valley Project Friant Division contract water supply outside of its service area in the newly constructed ground-water bank at Madera Ranch and approval to extend the Reclamation-owned 24.2 Canal.

The scoping meeting will take place on Monday, October 22, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at the MID Office, 2152 Road 28ΒΌ, Madera, CA 93637. If needed, another public meeting will be scheduled.
