The Bureau of Reclamation announces its winter schedule for a variety of guest speakers at New Melones Lake Visitor Center on Thursday evenings throughout October and November.  Come enjoy a wide range of topics from local history to the natural wonders of the New Melones Lake Area.

The first presentation starts:

Thursday, October 4, 2007 - Back by popular demand, Mr. Stan Reif will introduce everyone to his fascinating collection of native and exotic turtles and tortoises. Hear about their lives, challenges they face and the care these unique animals require.  Mr. Reif's local sanctuary is a refuge for many neglected, abused, and non-releasable animals.

All presentations begin at 7:00 p.m. at the New Melones Lake Visitor Center, 6850 Studhorse Flat Road, Sonora, CA 95370.  The fall speaker series is free of charge and no reservations are necessary.  Reclamation staff look forward to seeing you there.
