The Bureau of Reclamation New Melones Lake in Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties.  New Melones Lake is managed by the Central California Area Office, part of the Bureau of Reclamations Mid-Pacific Region.  Reclamation has scheduled two Alternatives Workshops to request input from the public on alternatives development.

The RMP/EIS will evaluate current and future resource conditions and analyze whether updated or new management actions are needed.  These management actions include public health and safety, recreational and land use, traffic and transportation, cultural and archaeological resources, and sensitive species and habitats.  All actions will be incorporated into a single document to guide the management of natural, cultural, and recreational resources at the lake.

The public is encouraged to attend one of the two workshops to learn about and share their thoughts on opportunities to be considered in the RMP/EIS.  The workshops will be held:

Friday, September 28, 2007, 1-4 p.m. and
Saturday, September 29, 2007, 9 a.m.-noon
