Comments will be accepted on recreation plans at Lake Estes, Marys Lake, East Portal and Common Point.

The Bureau of Reclamation and Estes Valley Recreation and Parks District will host a public open house as part of the first round in a public process to collect comments on recreation and resource management at Lake Estes, Marys Lake, and East Portal reservoirs as well as at Common Point recreation area. Comments will be accepted for Reclamation's Resource Management Plan as well as for the accompanying Environmental Assessment.

The Resource Management Plan, or "RMP," will guide Estes Valley Recreation and Parks District in their implementation and management of the four properties. The Environmental Assessment will evaluate what, if any, environmental impacts might come from the suggestions for recreation improvement and management described in the RMP.

The public open house will be held in Estes Park at Town Hall in Room 202/203 at 170 McGregor Ave on Tuesday, August 28. It will run from 4:00 in the afternoon until 8:00 in the evening.

Lake Estes, Marys Lake, East Portal reservoirs and the Common Point recreation area are part of the Colorado-Big Thompson water project owned by the Bureau of Reclamation. Estes Valley Recreation and Parks District manages recreation for Reclamation at all four sites.
