Technical Work Group to Meet in Arizona on Colorado River Issues

The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that the Technical Work Group of the Adaptive Management Work Group will be meeting on September 27-28, 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona, addressing issues related to the Glen Canyon Adaptive Management Program.
The meeting is being held to discuss technical issues and recommendations for use by the Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG), a Federal Advisory Committee to the Secretary of the Interior on issues related to the operation of Glen Canyon Dam and management of downstream resources in Glen and Grand Canyons. Agenda items include studies and work related to the endangered humpback chub, sedimentation, vegetation, hydrology and cultural resources of the Colorado River. The meeting is open to the public.
The Technical Work Group (TWG) is a sub-committee and is comprised of technical representatives who represent various stakeholders of the AMWG. Responsibilities of the TWG include the development of criteria and standards for monitoring and research programs; provide periodic reviews and updates; and provide information, as necessary, to the AMWG.
The meeting will be held at Bureau of Indian Affairs, 2 Arizona Center, 400 N. 5th St., 12th Floor Conference Room. The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM, MST, on the first day and will run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, MST, the second day.
