For Release: June 15, 2007

To help support Delta outflow requirements and Central Valley Project water supplies south of the Delta, Reclamation is increasing flows on the American and Sacramento Rivers from Nimbus and Keswick Dams, respectively. At 6 p.m. today, June 15, 2007, the Nimbus Dam release to the American River will begin to rise from 2,500 to 4,000 cubic feet per second by 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007.

At 4 p.m. today, the Keswick Dam release to the Sacramento River will rise from 11,500 to 12,500 cubic feet per second.

Boaters, rafters, swimmers, and those fishing along the rivers should be aware of the higher cold water flows below the dams which are likely for much of the remainder of this summer.
