Proposed Long-Term Exchange Contract with Meyers Farming and San Luis Water District Available for Review

The Bureau of Reclamation has completed contract negotiations with Meyers Farming (Meyers) and the San Luis Water District (District) to facilitate a long-term contract between the District and Meyers, owner and operator of a water bank near Mendota, California.  The proposed contract is available for a 60-day public review and comment period.

The 25-year contract provides for the exchange of banked water via the Meyers Storage Facility for use by the United States in the Mendota Pool, Fresno County.  In return, Reclamation will exchange an equivalent amount of Central Valley Project water available in San Luis Reservoir and convey the water to the District for irrigation uses by Meyers.
