The Bureau of Reclamation released a Finding of No Significant Impact for a proposed water service contract with the Greenberry Irrigation District located in Corvallis, Ore.

The proposed water service contract is for the irrigation district to use of up to 7,500 acre-feet of water from multiple federal reservoirs operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Willamette River basin. Although the Corps operates the reservoirs, Reclamation is authorized to administer water service contracts for irrigation.

The district intends to construct a pump station and a 4 mile pipeline to divert and deliver the water to farm land in Benton County. The pipeline will run from the Willamette River to Winkle Lake and Muddy Creek.

Reclamation issued a Draft Environmental Assessment for the proposed water service contract in February 2007 for public review.

The Draft Environmental Assessment and the FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The documents are available at www.usbr.gov/pn/programs/ea/oregon/greenberry/index.html.
