Flows along the south fork of the Boise River will increase as releases from Anderson Ranch Reservoir are increased from the current flow rate of 600 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 1,600 cfs. The flow rate will be increased by 400 cfs on May 30, starting at 1:00 a.m., and will be increased again on May 31, by 600 cfs.

Anderson Ranch Reservoir is located on the south fork of the Boise River about 75 miles southeast of Boise, Idaho.

The 1600 cfs flow rate will be maintained through July and the early part of August, releases are being increased to provide adequate delivery of irrigation water to the Treasure Valley.

People on or near the river are advised to be aware of the increases and take proper safety precautions.

Anderson Ranch Dam is an earth-filled structure completed in 1950, and standing about 336 feet high. Water stored behind the dam is used for irrigation, flood control, power generation, and recreation. The storage capacity of the reservoir is approximately 493,000 acre feet.
