The Visitor Center at Hungry Horse Dam in Montana will be opening on May 29 for the 2007 summer tourist season with exhibits that will take visitors on a virtual tour of the workings inside the dam, according to Facility Manager, Dennis Philmon. Hungry Horse Dam is located off Highway 2 in Hungry Horse, Mont. Follow directional signs from Highway 2 to the Visitor Center, approximately 4.5 miles.

In addition to the computerized virtual tours in the center, a special guided tour is also done on top of the dam. Lead by Reclamation guides, this tour concentrates on the special features and building of the dam.

Guided tours will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., seven days a week. The Visitor Center will tentatively close on September 2.

Parking is allowed only in designated areas and not on top of the dam roadway.

Admission to the Visitor Center and guided tour program is free.
