The Bureau of Reclamation announces the completion of the East Park Reservoir Fire Management Plan (FMP) and Environmental Assessment (EA)/Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The FMP and EA/FONSI have been developed for the Northern California Area Office to guide a range of fire management activities permitted by policy at East Park Reservoir, Colusa County, California, for a 10-year period.

The FMP and EA/FONSI emphasize a program that uses fire suppression to reduce hazards on Reclamations East Park Reservoir lands and discretionary prescribed fire activities to provide resource management benefits as described in the East Park Reservoir Resource Management Plan/EA. With the completion of the FMP, East Park Reservoir's fire management program is able to employ a variety of activities with the assistance of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, to accomplish land and resource management objectives and reduce the risk of fire.

The EA/FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and were available for a 15-day public review which ended April 24, 2007. The final documents are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=2673.
