Meeting Advisory: Open House Meetings for Truckee River Operating Agreement Revised Draft Environmental Document

The U.S. Department of the Interior and California Department of Water Resources (DWR), as co-lead agencies, have jointly prepared and released the Draft Truckee River Operating Agreement (TROA) Revised Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (DEIS/EIR). TROA would implement Section 205(a) of the Truckee-Carson-Pyramid Lake Water Rights Settlement Act of 1990, Title II of Public Law 101-618. The draft document was released on August 25, 2004, for a 64-day public review and comment period.

Six Open House meetings are being held to provide information on the TROA Revised DEIS/EIR. The public is invited to drop by any time during any of the following 3-hour Open Houses: Fernley, NV, Tuesday, September 21, 1-4 p.m., City Council Chambers, 595 Silver Lace Blvd.

Reno, NV, Tuesday, September 21, 7-10 p.m., Dept. of Water Resources, 4930 Energy Way

Fallon, NV, Wednesday, September 22, 7-10 p.m., Fallon Convention Center, 100 Campus Way

Kings Beach, CA, Thursday, September 23, 1-4 p.m., North Tahoe Conference Center 8318 North Lake Blvd.

Truckee, CA, Thursday, September 23, 7-10 p.m., Parks & Recreation Community Center 10046 Church Street

Nixon, NV, Friday, October 1, 6-9 p.m., Pyramid Lake Tribal Council Chambers, 210 Capitol Hill

As part of the public review process, written comments on the Revised DEIS/EIR must be received by close of business on Friday, October 29, 2004, and should be mailed to: Kenneth Parr, Bureau of Reclamation, 705 North Plaza Street, Room 320, Carson City, NV 89701-4015, or faxed to 775-882-7592, or e-mailed to kparr@mp.usbr.gov. All comments will become part of the public record.
