Reclamation Selects Deputy Area Manager in Yakima

The Bureau of Reclamation has selected Dawn Wiedmeier to serve as the Deputy Area Manager and the Yakima Field Office Manager in Yakima, Wash. In this capacity, she will be responsible for all aspects of Reclamation's Yakima Project, including operations and maintenance, fisheries, and water conservation. Additionally, she will be responsible for Reclamation activities under the Yakima River Basin Water Enhancement Project. Purposes of the enhancement project include protecting, mitigating, and enhancing fish and wildlife to improve the reliability of water supplies through improved water conservation and other means.

Wiedmeier is currently the deputy area manager at Reclamation's Eastern Colorado Area Office in Loveland, Colo. Prior to working for Reclamation at Loveland, Dawn worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Seattle and Clarkston, Wash. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management. She and her husband, Randy, have been married nearly 20 years.

"Dawn has a wealth of experience in complex water and power operations and maintenance; and endangered species issues," said Gerald Kelso, Upper Columbia Area Manager. "I believe she will be a great asset to our operations here in Yakima."
