The public review and comment period for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) has been extended by 30 days to April 25, 2007.

The purpose of the environmental impact statement is to evaluate alternatives to meet the long-term water supply needs of the Red River Valley in North Dakota and three Minnesota cities. The Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) evaluates six alternatives; one no action and five action alternatives.

The SDEIS was prepared in response to substantive comments related to environmental issues received on the draft environmental impact statement released in December 2005.

The SDEIS is available for download from www.rrvwsp.com or by calling 701-250.4242. For comments to be considered, they must be received by April 25, 2007. Comments on the report should be sent to Red River Valley Water Supply Project, Dakotas Area Office, Bureau of Reclamation, P.O. Box 1017, Bismarck, N.D., 58502-1017.
