For Release: March 21, 2007

A brief contract signing ceremony will be held on Friday, March 23, at the Berthoud Town Hall, Bureau of Reclamation officials announced today. Reclamation, the Town of Berthoud and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District are all signatories to the contract. The ceremony will begin at noon.

Through the contract, Berthoud gains the security of long-term water delivery through the Town's pipeline, which takes delivery of its high quality water through the Colorado-Big Thompson Project facilities. This flexibility enables Berthoud to conserve more water and take delivery of its water through the C-BT Project at times when the C-BT system is not running at full capacity.

The ceremony will include brief presentations from the signatory entities followed by signing of the contract. Reclamation owns the C-BT Project and oversees its management. The Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District is Reclamations partner on the project.

For more information regarding the signing ceremony, please contact Kara Lamb with Reclamation at either (970) 962-4326 or klamb@gp.usbr.gov.
