Reclamation has released its Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the new outlet to be constructed this fall at Carter Lake Dam #1. Both documents are available via Reclamation's website at http://www.usbr.gov/gp/nepa/quarterly.cfm#ecao.

Reclamation has prepared the Final EA and accompanying FONSI in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The document summarizes public and agency comments and resulting studies of possible environmental impacts that could result from the construction. It concludes with a recommendation of a preferred alternative allowing for construction of the outlet.

The Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District had requested construction of the additional outlet to provide for flexibility of water deliveries from Carter Lake Reservoir.

To obtain a hard copy of the Final EA and FONSI, or for questions about Carter Lake, please contact Kara Lamb at either (970) 962-4326 or at klamb@gp.usbr.gov.
