Continued Negotiation Session on Proposed Long-Term Exchange Contract - Central Valley Project

Pursuant to the Reclamation Act of 1902, the Bureau of Reclamation is continuing contract negotiations with Meyers Farming (Meyers) and San Luis Water District (District) to facilitate an exchange of Meyer’s supply of banked Central Valley Project (Project) and non-Project water.

Reclamation is entering into a long-term exchange agreement between the District and Meyers, owner and operator of a water bank near Mendota, California, for the exchange of non-Project and Project water for delivery back to the District.  The negotiation session is scheduled to discuss and finalize a 25-year contract associated with the exchange of the banked water via Meyers Storage Facility for use by the United States in the Mendota Pool, Fresno County.  In return, Reclamation will exchange an equivalent amount of Project water available in San Luis Reservoir and convey water to the District for irrigation uses by Meyers.
