Landscaping Contract Awarded At Grand Coulee Dam

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded an $892,000 contract to provide landscaping services at Grand Coulee Dam in north central Washington State to Wastren Advantage, Inc., of Richland, WA.

The contract, awarded on February 21, is for five years with a renewable clause each year. The work consists of maintaining lawns, native growth, shrubs and trees in the developed and partially developed areas around the Grand Coulee Power Office. The contractor will fully maintain landscaped areas and perform herbicide and pesticide spraying.

Grand Coulee Dam was completed in 1942 and serves as a multipurpose facility providing water for irrigation, recreation, fish and wildlife, hydroelectric power production, and also flood control.
