Finding of No Significant Impact Available for the Renewal of Interim CVP Water Service Contracts for the 2007 Water Year

The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the renewal of 15 interim water service contracts in California's Central Valley. The proposed interim contracts would extend delivery of Central Valley Project (CVP) water for a term of 1 year and could deliver up to 178,748 acre-feet of CVP water.

A Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment was released for public review in January 2006 covering the renewal of the 15 interim contracts through February 29, 2008.

The Final Supplemental Environmental Assessment and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The documents are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=2055.

Interim water service contractors covered under the FONSI are: Broadview Water District; assignments from Banta Carbona Irrigation District (ID) and the West Side ID to City of Tracy; assignments from Centinella Water District (WD) and Widren ID to Westlands WD Distribution District No. 1; assignment from Mercy Springs WD to Westlands WD Distribution District No. 2, Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency, and Santa Clara Valley WD; County of Fresno; Hills Valley ID, Kern-Tulare WD; Lower Tule River ID; Pixley ID; Rag Gulch WD; Tri-Valley WD; and the County of Tulare.
