Draft EA/FONSI Available for Madera Irrigation District's Madera Ranch Pilot Project

The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Madera Irrigation District Pilot Recharge and Recovery Project at Madera Ranch.  The purpose of this project is to allow Madera Irrigation District to collect data on recharge rates and ground-water hydrology within Madera Ranch.  This information would be used to determine the overall suitability of the area for future recharge and banking operations.

 The Draft EA and FONSI have been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available for a 15-day public review.  The documents are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=2558 .
