Reclamation Issues Draft Environmental Assessment for Laughlin-Area Recreation Amenities

The Bureau of Reclamation has issued a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) that evaluates the effects of a proposal to provide diverse recreational facilities near Laughlin, Nev.

The proposal would allow the construction and operation of new facilities on and the use of the Laughlin Regional Park and Regional Heritage Greenway Trails for recreational purposes on federal lands north of Laughlin. Reclamation is the lead federal agency for the proposed project, in partnership with Clark County.

Proposed is a system of pedestrian and equestrian trails, trailheads, day-use areas, cultural and natural resource protection areas, interpretive sites, and transportation improvements to facilitate non-motorized access. A public meeting and open house will be held December 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Laughlin Town Manager's Office, 101 Civic Way in Laughlin, to allow interested parties and individuals to view concept design plans and submit written comments on the proposed project to project representatives.
