For Release: November 08, 2006

Reclamation will join other Interior Department agencies in honoring all veterans by waiving admission fees at its Hoover Dam Visitor Center on Saturday, November 11, Veteran's Day.

The free Visitor Center tickets will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time), and the Center will close at 5:00 p.m.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and no later than 3 p.m. to ensure they will be able to take the tour.

Although the tour fee is being waived for Veteran's Day, visitors will still be required to pay for parking in the facility's garage. That charge is $7 (cash only) per car. The garage is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but parking spaces are limited.

The annual one-day waiver of admission fees to most public lands managed by the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture was instituted in September by Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne and Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns.
