The Hoover Dam visitor center and parking garage are scheduled to open and resume operations on Tuesday morning, September 19.

Reclamation officials decided to reopen its facilities after the Federal Highway Administration (FWHA) announced that Highway 93 would be reopened to traffic at 8 a.m., Tuesday, September 19.

If an unanticipated development occurs and the highway remains closed, the facilities at Hoover Dam will also remain closed.

The visitor center routinely opens at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time, and closes at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time. Tours of the dam's power plant begin about 9:20 a.m. and run approximately every 15 minutes thereafter until 5:15 p.m.

Water and power operations at the dam are not affected by the closed visitor facilities; those activities are continuing as normal.
