The Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG) will conduct a conference call on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, to address issues related to the operation of Glen Canyon Dam and ongoing monitoring of downstream conditions in conjunction with the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program (AMP).

The purpose of the conference call will be to review and discuss the Technical Work Group recommended Fiscal Year 2007 hydrograph, budget and workplan, and to facilitate development of the AMWG's recommendation to the Secretary of the Interior. The meeting is open to the public.

The AMWG is a Federal Advisory Committee appointed by the Secretary of the Interior with representatives from federal agencies, Colorado River basin states, Native American tribal governments, environmental groups, recreation interests and contractors for federal power from Glen Canyon Dam. The AMWG makes it possible for the Secretary to receive recommendations from these varied stakeholder interests on how to best protect downstream resources and balance river operations.

The call will begin at 12 p.m. MST (11 a.m. PST and 1 p.m. EST) and conclude two hours later. Non-federal and public participants can call in at 1-888-264-8816. Time will be allowed for any individual or organization wishing to make formal oral comments on the call.

To allow full consideration of information by the AMWG members, written notice must be provided at least five days prior to the call to Dennis Kubly, Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Regional Office, 125 S. State Street, Room 6107, Salt Lake City, Utah 84138 or at (801) 524-3858 or via email at dkubly@uc.usbr.gov.
