The Bureau of Reclamation and the Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation will co-host an open house on September 14, to explain the stream channel enhancement work in progress in the Methow, Twisp and Chewuch river basins in northern Washington.

The open house will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Twisp Local 98856 Restaurant & Bakery, on Route 20 in Twisp, Wash.

The meeting facility is accessible to people with disabilities. Please contact Greg Knott at (509) 997-0028 if you need sign language interpretation for the hearing impaired or other auxiliary aids.

The theme for the open house is "Living with the River," and it will feature exhibits and information on the Methow Instream Habitat Program. A new exhibit of photos and a video highlighting recent flooding along the Methow River will be on display

"This is a great opportunity for the public to learn about the dynamics of the Methow River, and to ask questions about the work being done in these basins," said Greg Knott, Methow Subbasin Liaison.

Background:

Since 1999, the federal government has directed federal agencies to restore and improve threatened and endangered salmon and steelhead runs in the Pacific Northwest. The Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation provides a link between regulatory agencies and property owners in an ongoing effort to promote clean streams and productive aquatic habitat.
