For Release: August 25, 2006

The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) associated with a proposed new 2006 interim flow agreement between Reclamation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company for Battle Creek.

Interim flows have provided immediate habitat improvement for the Federal and State-listed Chinook salmon and Central Valley steelhead trout below Eagle Canyon and Coleman Diversion Dams since 1996, and the proposed new interim flow agreement allows the flows to continue for up to five years until the implementation of the proposed Battle Creek Salmon and Steelhead Restoration Project.

The FONSI and SEA may be viewed at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=2163 . The Draft FONSI and SEA were available for a 30-day public review and comment period on April 18, 2006. No comments were received.
