Parks Master Plan & Reservoirs Resource Management Plan
Parks Master Plan & Reservoirs Resource Management Plan
Next week, the Bureau of Reclamation and Larimer County Parks and Open Lands will host two public open houses to collect public comment on recreation. Suggestions for the County's Recreation Master Plan and environmental concerns for Reclamation's Resource Management Plan are needed for the County Parks areas surrounding Horsetooth, Carter, Pinewood, and Flatiron reservoirs.

On July 11, a public open house will be held in Loveland at Mountain View Highschool, 3500 Mountain Lion Drive. On July 12, another public open house will be held in Ft. Collins at the Ft. Collins Senior Center at 1200 Raintree Drive. Both open houses will run from 5-7 pm. Both open houses will present information on the two plans, explain the public process, and provide the general public an opportunity to comment on both plans.

Horsetooth, Carter, Pinewood, and Flatiron reservoirs are part of the Colorado-Big Thompson water project owned by the Bureau of Reclamation. Larimer County Parks and Open Lands manages recreation for Reclamation at all four reservoirs. The Recreation Master Plan and Resource Management Plan work hand-in-hand to coordinate and outline recreational development and improvements at the four reservoirs. County Parks prepares the Master Plan. Reclamation is responsible for the Resource Management Plan, which includes compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
