The Bureau of Reclamation and Larimer County Parks and Open Lands will host two public open houses to collect public comment on recreation at Horsetooth, Carter, Pinewood, and Flatiron reservoirs. Comments will be accepted for the County's Recreation Master Plan and for Reclamation's Resource Management Plan.
The meetings will be held:
In Loveland Tuesday, July 11 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Mountain View High School 3500 Mountain Lion Drive | In Fort Collins Wednesday, July 12 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Fort Collins Senior Center 1200 Raintree Drive |
Horsetooth, Carter, Pinewood, and Flatiron reservoirs are part of the Colorado-Big Thompson water project owned by the Bureau of Reclamation. Larimer County Parks and Open Lands manages recreation for Reclamation at all four reservoirs.
The Recreation Master Plan and Resource Management Plan work hand-in-hand to coordinate and outline recreational development and improvements at the four reservoirs. Larimer County Parks prepares the Master Plan, while Reclamation is responsible for the Resource Management Plan, which includes compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
For more information on either plan and the open houses, please visit http://www.larimer.org/parks/masterplan/ or contact Kara Lamb at (970)962-4326.
