Shasta Dam Visitor Center Kicks Off Summer Tour Hours

With a full lake, the Bureau of Reclamation is in full swing with their summer tour schedule at Shasta Dam. Tours times are 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 3 p.m., daily. These very informative tours are a must-see for visitors planning to be in the Redding, California area.

The guided tours start on the dam at the visitor elevator tower. It is a short walk from the parking area, so please plan to arrive 20 minutes before tour time. The route will take tourists down in the visitor elevator and out to the spillway area. It will also include an inside view of the powerplant.

No cameras, cellular phones, or bags of any kind are allowed on the tour. Visitors should leave any belongings in their vehicles. Tours are limited to 40 people per tour.

The Visitor Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please contact the Shasta Dam Visitor Center at 530-275-4463.
