For Release: June 26, 2006

Beginning Tuesday, June 27, water releases from Parker Dam are expected to average up to 21,000 cubic feet per second (cfs), slightly higher than normal, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mountain Standard Time to help address increased water and energy demands throughout the Southwest.

After about 4:00 p.m., the releases are expected to return to normal hourly amounts of up to 19,000 cfs.

This schedule is expected to continue through July 5; however, it is subject to change depending on downstream water demands and other conditions.

The elevation of Lake Havasu is expected to remain fairly steady at about elevation 446.8, but will rise to elevation 448 for the July 4th weekend.

All river users should exercise extra caution during this period of fluctuating river flows. Daily and hourly information on releases from the Bureau of Reclamation's Colorado River dams is available on Reclamation's web site, at http://www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html, or contact the Boulder Canyon Operations Office Water Control Center by phone at: 702-293-8680, or by e-mail at: waterops@lc.usbr.gov.
