Free Access to Black Canyon Dam Parks on June 17 in Honor of Reclmation's 100th Anniversary

Parks adjacent to Black Canyon Dam are frequently the popular gathering spot for families holding special celebrations or individuals and groups enjoying outdoor fun and recreation. Black Canyon Dam is located adjacent to State Highway 52 about 5 miles east of Emmett, Idaho.
On June 17, the Bureau of Reclamation will be offering free access to nearby parks at Black Canyon Dam in honor of the federal agency's anniversary of public service. Reclamation came into existence on June 17, 1902.
"We believe this will be the perfect way to close out our Centennial Year by offering the public a day to enjoy our parks without a fee, while also acknowledging the anniversary of the Bureau of Reclamation," said Robert Adams, Black Canyon Dam facility manager.
Fees will still be in place for group overnight camping and reservation of the landscaped gazebos at Black Canyon Park and Wild Rose Park. The daily fee for the gazebos, which are popular for wedding ceremonies and family reunions, remains set at $125.
Black Canyon Dam and Parks
There are three day-use parks located at or near Black Canyon Dam: Black Canyon Park, Wild Rose Park, and Cobblestone Park. Triangle Park offers both day-use and overnight camping; however this activity refers to day use camping only.
