Ainsworth Negotiation Session
Water Service Contract

May 31, 2006
Beginning at 9 A.M.
Conference Center
Ainsworth, Nebraska

A negotiation session will be held May 31st at the Conference Center in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to renew or convert the long-term water service contract with the Ainsworth Irrigation District (AID).

Representatives from the Bureau of Reclamation and the AID will be negotiating the contract. Actual negotiations are limited to representatives from Reclamation and the AID. The formal negotiation session will be open to the general public as observers only. At the close of the formal negotiation session between Reclamation and the AID, the meeting will be open to the public to provide comments.

It is the policy of the Department of the Interior to afford interested or affected parties and the general public an opportunity to provide input into the decision making process regarding water service contracts. All subsequent negotiation sessions will also be advertised in advance. Copies of the draft contract being negotiated will be made available at the negotiation sessions. In addition, the draft contract will be available for a 60-day public review and comment period prior to acceptance of the contract by Reclamation and the AID.
