Geologic Drilling and Aggregate Sampling Program Draft Documents Available for the Upper San Joaquin River Basin Storage Investigation

The Bureau of Reclamation has made available for public review and comment the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Geologic Drilling and Aggregate Sampling Program for the Upper San Joaquin River Basin Storage Investigation. The Geologic Drilling and Aggregate Sampling Program would encompass feasibility-level geologic drilling and aggregate sampling investigations at two potential dam sites on the Upper San Joaquin River. The proposed program would be conducted as part of the Upper San Joaquin River Basin Storage Investigation project, which is investigating the feasibility of implementing various alternatives to provide additional water storage capacity for the San Joaquin River watershed.

The Draft EA and Draft FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available for a 30-day public review and comment period. The Final EA will address any substantive comments received during the comment period. The draft documents are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/sccao/storage/docs/index.html.
