Reclamation Employees to Celebrate Earth Day

Who: Bureau of Reclamation

What: YAO 2006 Earth Day event is planned for Reclamation employees. Earth Day participants and displays will include Honda, Toyota, and Ford hybrid vehicles, the APS electric car, an organic gardening display, a paper recycling display and contest, and an earth day slogan and pollution prevention idea contest.

When: April 19, between the hours of 9:00  11:00 a.m.

Where: Bureau of Reclamations Yuma Area Office in Yuma, Ariz. The event will be held outside the YAO Admin complex located at 7301 Calle Agua Salada. News media are welcome to attend.

Why: YAO employees support Earth Day and encourage others to find out more on how they too can help protect our planet.

Background: Earth Day was originally founded in 1970 in order to promote environmental citizenship worldwide. Earth Day is the only event celebrated around the world by people of all backgrounds and nationalities. More than half a billion people participate in Earth Day events every year.
