The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) associated with a proposed new 2006 interim flow agreement between Reclamation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The agreement would continue interim instream flows in Battle Creek, continue temporary closure of fish ladders at Eagle Canyon and Coleman diversion dams, and partially reimburse PG&E for power generation lost due to decreased diversions to Battle Creek hydroelectric project powerhouses.

The Draft FONSI and SEA were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=2163. The Draft FONSI and SEA are available for a 30-day public review and comment period. The Final FONSI and SEA will address any substantive comments received during the comment period. Written comments are due by close of business on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, and should be sent to Ms. Mary Marshall of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Regional Office, 2800 Cottage Way, Sacramento, CA 95825.

For additional information or to request a copy of the documents, please contact Ms. Marshall at 916-978-5248 or e-mail mmarshall@mp.usbr.gov. If you encounter problems accessing documents online, please contact Ms. Lynnette Wirth at 916-978-5102 or e-mail lwirth@mp.usbr.gov.
