For Release: April 17, 2006
The Grassland Bypass Project Oversight Committee (Bureau of Reclamation, California Department of Fish and Game, California Regional Water Quality Control Board, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) has scheduled a public meeting to consider "Drainage Incentive Fees for discharges in excess of load values during winter 2005."
A report produced by the Grassland Bypass Project Technical and Policy Review Team, "Determination of Incentive Fees for Winter-2005 Floods," can be found at: www.usbr.gov/mp/grassland/documents/GBPTPRT2005report_mar02.pdf .
In 1996, the Grassland Bypass Project began separating agricultural drainage water from channels used to deliver water to wetland habitat in the Grassland Basin of central California. The volume and concentration of this discharge is closely monitored and must meet water quality objectives specified in Waste Discharge Requirement No. 5-01-234 issued by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board.
The meeting will be held in:
Sacramento
Wednesday, April 26, 2006
1 to 3 p.m.
Odd Fellows Temple Association of Sacramento
1831 Howe Avenue
For additional information or for special requirements to attend the meeting, please contact Mr. Todd Pederson, Bureau of Reclamation, 916-978-5027, TDD 916-978-5608, or e-mail tpederson@mp.usbr.gov.
