For Release: April 05, 2006

The Bureau of Reclamation has closed the Government-operated free boat launch ramp and parking lot at Capell Cove, Lake Berryessa Federal Recreation Area, located on Knoxville-Berryessa Road in Napa, California.

The closure began on April 3, 2006, due to flooding and debris at the ramp. It is Reclamations objective to provide outdoor recreation facilities and services to the visiting public at Lake Berryessa. To maintain visitor safety, when flood waters rise above 442' elevation, the ramp is closed to the public. The reservoir floodplain is that area within elevations 440' and 455'. The closure will remain in effect until waters recede and the ramp is cleared of debris.

Please call Melissa Brockman at 707-966-2111, extension 103, at the Lake Berryessa Field Office for more information or to check on ramp closure status.
