On Wednesday, March 22nd, the Bureau of Reclamation will host a public meeting to discuss a proposal to construct an additional outlet at Carter Lake Dam #1 (the reservoir's south dam). The meeting will be held at the Larimer County Parks and Open Lands office between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Larimer County Parks and Open Lands is located just north of Carter Lake at 1800 South County Road 31, Loveland CO.

The purpose of the meeting is to collect feedback from the local community regarding possible impacts resulting from the outlet construction. Carter Lake and its dams are owned by the Bureau of Reclamation. The Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, which operates Carter Lake for their water deliveries, has proposed adding the new water outlet. Because the dam is a federal property, a public disclosure and environmental review is required under the National Environmental Policy Act.

To RSVP for the meeting, or for more information, please contact Kara Lamb, public information for Reclamation's Loveland office, at (970) 962-4326 or klamb@gp.usbr.gov.
