Klamath Project Lease Lands Bids Opened; Second Bid Opening Scheduled for March 17, 2006

The Bureau of Reclamation's Klamath Basin Area Office announces that the sealed bids for leasing 49 parcels of Federal lease lands for agricultural purposes were opened on March 8, 2006, at the Klamath Basin Area Office. The tracts are located in the Lower Klamath Lake (Area K) in Oregon and Tule Lake Reserve (Sumps 2 and 3) in California. A total 132 bids were received for the lots by competitive bidding with 1 lot in Sump 3 receiving no bids. The summary of the bid opening is as follows:

A second bid opening for 1 lot (192.9 acres) in Sump 3 is scheduled for March 17, 2006. Bidding instructions, lease information, a sample copy of the lease contract, location maps, and bid forms to be used in submitting bids, as well as copies of the bid opening abstract, are available at the Klamath Basin Area Office, 6600 Washburn Way, Klamath Falls, Oregon; at the Tulelake Irrigation District, 2717 Havlina Road, Tulelake, California; and online at: www.usbr.gov/mp/kbao/operations/land_lease/index.html.
