Reclamation Awards Construction Contract For Hungry Horse Dam Spillway Rehabilitation

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded a $587,000 contract for rehabilitation work on the ring gate spillway at Hungry Horse Dam located on the South Fork of Flathead River about 9 miles southwest of Columbia Falls, Montana.

DST Constructors, LLC of Greybull, Wyoming, was awarded the contract on August 3. Work is expected to be completed by December 31, 2004

Work consists of ring gate rehabilitation and painting of the floating ring gate inside the morning glory spillway. The contractor will disassemble and rebuild seals associated with the morning glory spillway.

Hungry Horse Dam is a 564 foot high concrete arch structure constructed in 1953 by the Bureau of Reclamation.
