HELENA, Mont. – Following a severe weather event on the evening of September 11, the Riverside Campground sustained significant impacts, including downed trees, damaged infrastructure, and unsafe conditions. Reclamation’s Canyon Ferry Reservoir staff is pleased to announce that the parking lot, boat ramp, accessible fishing dock, and campsites 4-9 are open at Riverside Campground. Camping sites 1-3 and 10-27 remain closed.
Reclamation evaluated the extent of the damage and developed a plan for cleanup and restoration of the campground. This plan includes partially opening the site while further work is required to reopen the remaining areas. We encourage the public to monitor Reclamation’s website and social media platforms for updates on the campground’s status and any potential reopening timelines.
