WALNUT GROVE, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will be conducting a geotechnical investigation at the Delta Cross Channel gate facility as part of the Delta Cross Channel Gates Improvements Project. Investigation activities will occur on land and in the channel during mid-August through mid-September 2024.

Boater access through the Delta Cross Channel will be restricted Sept. 3 – 5, 2024 and Sept.  9 – 11, 2024, so that in-channel work can be completed safely.  Boaters are advised to use caution and to select alternative routes during these dates.  The Delta Cross Channel gates will remain open during drilling.

The Delta Cross Channel and gate facility are components of Reclamation’s Central Valley Project. The investigation is being performed to support project design modifications at the site that will improve operational flexibility, reliability and safety of the gate facility.
