SONORA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces new operating hours at New Melones Lake for the summer season beginning May 19.
Open areas and facilities include:
- Entrance gates to Tuttletown and Glory Hole recreation areas remain open daily from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Campgrounds: Ironhorse, Big Oak, Acorn, Manzanita, Fiddleneck, and Oak Knoll
- Day Use Areas: Black Bart, Buck Brush, Lupine, Heron Point, and Eagle Point (open sunrise to sunset)
- Trails: Natural Bridges, Table Mountain, Peoria, Black Bart, Buck Brush, Lupine, Upper and Lower Carson Creek, and Heron Point
- Boat Launches: Glory Hole, Angels Creek, and Eagle Point
- New Melones Lake Marina
Closed areas and facilities include:
- Campground: Chamise, and Iron Horse (sites 45-59, 80-89)
- Day Use Area: Osprey Point
Reclamation will announce when the closed areas and facilities are open to the public.
New Melones Lake Visitor Center is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
New Melones Administration Office is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for pass sales. (Pass sales are available on Sundays at the Visitor Center.)
