SONORA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will be moving into off-season operation at New Melones Lake from early October through March 31. The off-season operation includes closures of some facilities to enable Reclamation to perform necessary maintenance tasks and allow for natural resource recovery. Site shutdowns will be temporary and staggered to accommodate the maintenance schedule. Camping, day use, and boat launching will remain available through this period in both the Glory Hole and Tuttletown recreation areas.
The New Melones Lake Visitor Center at 6850 Studhorse Flat Road, Sonora, is open Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to visit the museum and to purchase park passes. The administration office is open Wednesday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for pass sales.
