McCook, NE - The Bureau of Reclamation has opened a public comment period to seek input in the planning process for the upcoming improvements at Swanson and Red Willow Reservoir concession areas.

The plan is in its initial stages, and as part of Reclamation’s commitment to stakeholder engagement and community involvement, crucial public input is being sought to guide the planning process.

Proposed improvements include full-service camper hookups, tiny house cabin sites, new shower houses, trails and more.

Reclamation offers these instructions for participation:

2. What to comment on: Reclamation is interested in a variety of comments including:

a. Your perspective on the proposed improvements and their potential benefits.

b. Additional recreational facilities or amenities that you believe would enhance the experience at these sites. For example, would you appreciate the addition of activities like disc golf, outdoor fitness equipment, improved picnic areas, or long-term camping?

c. Suggestions for ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption during the construction and improvement phase.

3. How to comment: Reclamation welcomes your feedback via two methods:

a. Email: Please submit your comments via email to:
